Edit corner weights or weight distribution values

In this menu the vehicle masses are specified as well as the static distribution of the weight over the four tires.

The first option is to edit the static load values of the vehicle in the edit boxes. LapSim will subsequently calculate the weight distribution numbers.

The second option is to edit the total mass in combination with weight distribution values and cross weight.

In the edit boxes one can see if this matches with the scales in reality.

Unsprang mass of front and rear wheels

The unsprang weight of the four wheels, defines the amount of weight which is not supported by the suspension springs.

The value is per wheel, not per axle.

Only of influence in the 7 poster simulation

The mass moment of inertia of the vehicle along the vertical/ lateral and longitudinal axis have no real influence on the lap simulation, because the lap simulation is quasi static.

In the 7 poster dynamic model, these parameters do have a big influence on the dynamic behaviour of the vehicle.

Extra mass to accelerate

The mass moments of inertia of the engine as well as the FR/RR wheels do create extra inertia which needs to be accelerated.
